Designers whom I have had the delight to work with and get to know as part of a creative team inspiring more innovative use of wool and mohair. These include Mmusomaxwell, winners of the LVM, The Karl Lagerfeld prize for Innovation; the Karakul mimicked textile cut into a winning coat; Lezanne Viviers’ challenging ways in diverting from classic uses of textile for the handcraft persona of Viviers Studio style; Wanda LePhoto’s outrageously sharp humor reflected in his work is a dashing suit of Nuno-felted cotton, red on black swift-like shales; Luke Radloff, often collaborating with South African weavers and textile makers and since the early 2000’s developing a deep understanding of colour and texture with Lukhanyo Mdingi, wool felt textiles used in the designing and manufacturing of jackets, coats, dresses and more finding international acclaim.
